MET gala

I am at day 14/16 of studying for final exams. So, I am burned out to say the least (even though I'm incredibly excited to be DONE DONE DONE with 1L!!!). I have been resting my brain by browsing pictures of the Met Costume Institute Gala. I really hate the concept of best/worst lists, they are so arbitrary and stupid. I always find myself loving looks that end up on the "worst" lists. Like today.

I love this lace jumpsuit, designed by her. Where could I ever wear something like this? Bummer.

So vibrant, love the sleeves & detail on the leggings. Just don't look at the heels of those shoes...these gothic-heeled Louis Vuitton popped up on a few girls...like Madonna' atrocious thigh-highs. I can't look at a flared-heel shoe without thinking goth girl.

Then there were my 2 on the "best" lists: my favorite Kates, both wearing Stella.

So beautiful.
Back to the brain-melting studying ughghhhh. *Just telling myself if I do well, I might be able to afford a sweet lace jumpsuit someday*

what i'm loving today

This Signette party dress from Bluefly ($165). ONCE AGAIN, too bad I won't be attending any holiday parties.

This Marc by Marc colorblock bag at Shopbop ($348). I have been looking for a bag that doesn't look like every other bag out there, and this is very me.

Kate Bosworth in this dress:

The girl can do no wrong. Check out the back:

Finally, 3 Muskateers Mint Bars:

Great, I have a new candy obsession. I am a huge fan of anything mint-chocolate. Peppermint patties are too minty, but these are just perfect. Too perfect.

she doesn't belong

A lot of pictures on Go Fug Yourself shock me. But this one shocks me for a different reason:

Why? Because she absolutely doesn't belong anywhere near the word "fug". She is so gorgeous and always looks polished & unique. Well, maybe her natural beauty can pull off any look, or maybe I'm biased because she is one of those people who can do no wrong in my book, ever (others on my shortlist include: Lily Allen, and Gwen Stefani). Anyway, I love it!

shoe of the day

Chloe triple strap shoe at net-a-porter

I have been semi-obsessed with these shoes since I saw them on Kate Bosworth. Since she has perfect tiny legs, they probably would make most other girls' legs look a little stumpy. Of course, that would not stop me from buying them if I had the chance!

a little late, but...

The past few days have consisted of job searching, polyvore.com, and ogling the pictures from the Met Poiret Gala. I know that they are posted everywhere but I just have to put my favorite looks and favorite people here.

Kate Bosworth is one of my all-time favorite Hollywood people. She looks beautiful in Prada and definitely evokes the era of Poiret.

What a gorgeous, classy couple. Emily Blunt looking elegant in Calvin Klein.

Mischa Barton is mature and refreshing in Giambattista Valli. She has great taste when she's not rocking the diaper-jeans!

Johnny isn't looking so cute wearing Britney's hand-me-down boots, but Kirsten is wearing another great '20's look from YSL. I know this showed up on some worst-dressed lists, but she pulls is off and you know you'd love to wear something this outrageous if you had a chance.
